so...here it is...
progression...
as you know, we LOVE visiting the zoo. we're members of the pittsburg zoo, actually (long story, but basically, we went to visit the pittsburg zoo and found out that my cleveland zoo membership had just expired. rather than pay the $ just to get in that day, we bought the membership because most zoos (and aquariums) have reciprocity, so you can get in to many of them w/ your one membership...you should look into that!)
anyway, you know we love the zoo. right now, dinosaurs are visiting the cleveland zoo. and while brayden's first love is still sea creatures...dinos are quickly inching in on the throne to his heart.
so, we frequent the dinos alot. brayden loves them and ellie...well...
here's a picture of the two of them on their first trip to the dinos. notice the look on ellie's face. she's NOT digging it.
"face your fears". yep. that's what i say to her. (and yes, i totally get that i'm hypocritical because every time i put her up on that dino i think, how would i react if someone gave me a spider and said "face your fears"...it wouldn't go well, that's all i can say).
so here she is...facing her fears for the first time...
our next visit, as you can see, progress was slow...brayden had to really hold on to her to keep her on the dino.
which totally paid off because here's a picture from our trip today...

apparently, there really IS something to the "face your fears" approach.
i don't care. i still don't like spiders.
